Mike Crest

Mike Crest serves as CEO and Executive Chair of W Energy Solutions, where he leads the company’s strategy, growth, and customer-focused innovation in providing specialized software solutions for the energy sector. With a proven track record of scaling enterprise software companies, Mike brings operational rigor and deep industry expertise to help W Energy deliver world-class solutions to upstream and midstream operators.

In addition to his leadership at W Energy, Mike is an Operating Executive at True Wind Capital, a technology-focused private equity firm. In this role, he partners with portfolio company leaders to implement best practices and drive value creation across the firm’s investments.

Prior to W Energy and True Wind, Mike served as CEO of Optanix, a leading provider of IT assurance solutions, where he led the company through a successful sale. Earlier, he was CEO of Arcserve, where he led the business through a carve-out from CA Technologies and repositioned it as a global leader in data protection. He also held senior executive roles at CA Technologies and spent nearly a decade in technology sales leadership at one of the world’s largest IT resellers.

Mike holds a B.S. in Business Administration and Computer Science from Minnesota State University, Mankato, graduating magna cum laude.
